There are many more special or atypical projects that we have done over the years.
We have waterproofed the split face concrete block walls of a food warehouse, thereby preventing wind driven rain from potentially contaminating the products.
We have done extensive repairs on aging condominium balconies.
We painted the counting room of a bank while it was in operation.
We have repaired and installed Fiberglass Reinforced Panels (FRP) in multiple food plants in compliance of FDA regulations. Also, when painting in food plants the products used must all be FDA approved.
We have painted epoxy and/or urethane coatings on many metal surfaces in and around industrial sites. Metal specific primers are best for defeating rust and promoting adhesion to the substrate. Epoxy finish (top) coats are generally the hardest and most abrasive resistant and are used for industrial railings, loading dock plates and any interior area where wear resistance is desired.
Understanding Coating Systems:
Epoxy Coatings: Epoxy paints however off gas badly as they cure, and are subject to fading and deterioration when exposed to ultraviolet light, so exterior use is not recommended. One can use an epoxy primer on exterior surfaces thereby gaining the adhesion and wear resistance of an epoxy, but the top coat on exterior surfaces should be a urethane.
Urethane Coatings: Urethanes are almost as hard and abrasive resistant as epoxies, but they will not break down when exposed to sunlight.
Important Note: Both Epoxy and Urethane have some drawbacks. Principally, because they are so hard and abrasive resistant, they are also inflexible. If you were to apply an epoxy to a long stretch to gutter work it would probably crack off and peel away because the extreme heat of summer causes the gutter to expand greater than the paints coefficient of expansion and / or contract when the long length of metal contracts during the winter.
